I made this design with black indian ink, on my residency in Andalucia in September..and I printed it up onto linen recently in the studio in London..it’s inspired by local wildlife and some other suspicious oddities which I came across there..

I’ve been meaning to draw up a fabric print design made up of jugs with faces for a while, but meanwhile I made a quick screenprint. I feel sorry for him.

Here are a few watercolours I made on a two week artist residency in Andalucia, Spain which I’m just back from. If you’re interested in doing a residency, I really recommend it! http://www.losgazquez.com/en/ Click on Joya and Blog for more info, and email me if you have any questions about it…

This is a poem from Ted Hughes ‘Birthday Letters’ about Sylvia Plath riding her horse Sam, and falling underneath him as he galloped home…same thing happened to me when I was 15 in Oxfordshire..will write more on that later..

Aunt Agnieska’s birthday bash – wallpaper

leave a comment »

An experiment on wallpaper (just one sheet so far). A Great Aunt’s birthday do, she’s lying on the chez-lounge at her own party surrounded by her grandchildren and various descendents. I made this piece for a wallpaper exhibition being organised by East London Printmakers – ‘Off the Wall’ at the Dreamspace Gallery in London, 22nd March – 9th April.
