Earlier this year I was commissioned to illustrate book covers (and endpapers) for 6 of Charles Dickens classics for Penguin. The designer at Penguin I collaborated with is Suzanne Dean. They came out in the bookshops this November.

Here’s another commission for World of Interiors magazine, for an article written by a historian who explores the past through what people ate. So her kitchen is a where she does most of her research..
Made for the World of Interiors magazine, for an article about an insect farm in Wales that also serves up food made from insects in it’s kitchen. Hmm. I’ve eaten brownies made from cricket flour, and these were so good..light!
This was inspired by a Japanese myth about how the sun and the moon went their separate ways. The moon god Tsukiyomi kills the food-goddess after she vomits up rice, fish and game infront of him! He mentions this to the sun-goddess who is so furious with him that she refuses to meet him face to face ever again, and so the day and night are always apart. So here in my picture he’s carrying his night away with him.
This design is printed on a thick linen/cotton for curtains and upholstery. I designed it a few years ago and have been printing it up for a while, but I’ve just started having it screenprinted elsewhere, which is a great relief! My contact email is on my ‘About’ page if you’re interested in having some.
